How it works

From token to insight in three steps.

Get a token, choose where it runs, and your post history turns into analysis on the first sync.

  1. 01

    Get a Threads access token

Create one in Meta’s developer dashboard. The token guide walks you through all 18 steps.

Publish a concise personal insight between 20:00 and 22:00. The pattern is consistent enough to test for another month.

From data to decisions

More than a dashboard full of totals.

Every view is designed to answer a publishing decision, not just report another number.

01TIMING

Find your real posting window

Compare hours and weekdays using medians, sample size, and confidence—not one lucky viral post.

02FORMAT × LENGTH

See what shape your best ideas take

Cross content format with post length to reveal combinations that consistently outperform your baseline.

03QUALITY MAP

Separate reach from resonance

Map every post by views and engagement rate to spot high-reach hits and quiet conversation starters.

04CONTENT SIGNALS

Learn from words, gaps, and cadence

Explore keywords, publishing gaps, consistency, streaks, and weekly frequency without exporting a spreadsheet.

05MULTI-ACCOUNT

Keep every account in one place

Switch profiles, sync automatically, and preserve each account’s own benchmark and posting behavior.

06SELF-HOSTED

Your data stays on your stack

Deploy with PostgreSQL on Railway, Vercel, Docker, or your own server. Tokens are encrypted at rest.

Built in

Ask your data. Run your giveaway.

Two tools that come with Threads Analytics, with no extra service to sign up for.

TRY ASKING

Your agent decides which tools to call — overview first, then posts, analytics, or follower history as needed.

Built-in MCP server

Ask your own data, in plain language.

Every deployment ships a read-only MCP server. Connect Claude, Codex, or Cursor over OAuth — no API keys — and your agent reads posts, analytics, and follower history to answer with reports and next moves.

Giveaway, built in

Draw winners without leaving your dashboard.

Pick the post, apply the rules you announced — keyword, tagged friends, deadline, one entry per account — and draw right inside your own dashboard. No signing into your Threads account on someone else's site, and no paying for a giveaway tool.

Why it exists

Built because the answers were missing.

Most analytics tools stop at totals. Threads Analytics started with a more useful question: what kind of post works for me, and when should I publish it?

I tried a few Threads analytics tools, but the analysis I wanted still wasn’t there—so I built it.

Before you start

Is Threads Analytics right for you?

A free, open-source Threads analytics dashboard for creators who want to keep their own history, on their Mac or on a server they run.

Is it free?

Yes. The software is free and open source, and the Mac app costs nothing to run. If you host the web version instead, you pay your hosting and database provider, depending on their plan and your usage.

What do I need?

A Threads access token. The Mac app needs nothing else; the web version also needs somewhere to host it and a PostgreSQL database, and the deployment guides walk you through setup. Either way the app renews the token on its own as long as it keeps syncing. On a server, updates and backups are up to you.

Which accounts can I analyze?

The accounts you authorize with your own access token. Everything comes from the official Threads API, so it can’t see anyone else’s private analytics.

Can it pull in older data?

For posts, yes: older posts and their current metrics sync in. Follower counts are different. Daily history starts from your first sync and can’t be filled in for earlier days.

Where is my data stored?

With the Mac app, in a local database on your Mac. With the web version, in the hosting and database services you choose. If you connect an AI assistant through MCP, it can read whatever the tools you allow return.

Who is it for?

Creators who want to dig into their own numbers. The Mac app takes a few minutes to set up; the web version suits anyone who doesn’t mind running a small self-hosted app. If you just want a quick look without any setup, the Insights built into Threads is enough.

Your next better post is already in your history.

Self-host Threads Analytics and turn old posts into your next publishing decision.
